A Month of Fun

It's officially one month today that I last posted to my blog, so I figured it was time to give an update of the last months' activities. Before leaving Iowa for the month of June, we got together with good friends for one last FHE night before S&T Dix moved. BooHoo:(

Then we were off to Idaho to visit our families. We went to family reunions, played with cousins/grandparents/aunts & uncles, went camping, made a day trip to Yellowstone National Park, and celebrated time with family. Julia rode her first tractor and mowed the lawn with Dad. It was all very exciting and fun.

Cousins: Lauren, Julia, Marney, Abby

Julia was enthralled with the bubbles at the reunion.

Julia LOVED mowing the lawn. Every time they made a pass, Julia was grinning ear to ear.

Julia swinging on the swing.

Riding on the tractor with Dad, for the first time.

Mesa Falls - on our way to Yellowstone National Park. The mosquitoes were ferocious but the view was spectacular.

Yellowstone National Park.

Group of bison feeding and relaxing. It was fun to see a couple babies.

Layne with the mud pots behind him. Luckily the sulfur smell wasn't overbearing.

Old Faithful.

Yellowstone Lake in the background. There was still snow on the ground.

The Grand Teton Mountains near Moose, WY.

We were fortunate to have Layne for a week longer than originally planned due to the flooding in Iowa City. The University of Iowa was closed for a week so we made the most of our time together. After Layne flew home, Julia and I continued our travels to visit my family in western Idaho. This was my first time to be gone for so long (9 days) without Layne.

Camping at Silver Creek Plunge near Garden Valley, Idaho.

Jensen Reunion. It took me a while to convince Julia that we should go swimming. She had been so content raiding the sliced apples and throwing pieces of trash in the garbage can - but it was way to hot to resist the pool. Once I got in, then Julia decided she'd like to join me. She loved jumping off the side of the pool into my arms and sliding down the slide.

Our last stop was G&G Jensen's. The day before we had to leave, Julia finally wanted to show Grandma around the house and play. I think Julia had an overwhelming month of lots of people, sounds, traveling, and sites. But it sure was so much fun. Thanks Family!!

Looks like you guys have had a fun and busy month! I love all the pics and Julia is adorable! She is getting so big! We have thought a lot about you guys and wondered if the flooding affected you at all, did it? Hope you are feeling well. Take care.

Wow Yellowstone is beautiful!! It was fun finding your blog on adri's! YOur little Julia is such a sweet heart! What a cutie. Congratulations on the new one, can't wait to check back and see what the stork brought you two! We are in Alaska, and are still missing all our dental friends two years removed. Glad we can blog and still "see" each other!
