Look Who's Two!

It's hard to believe that our little girl is now 2 years old. Unfortunately she was sick on her birthday (in fact she threw up just as we sat down for dinner). Her birthday "cake" consisted of a jello cup with two candles. Of course, she didn't want to eat it, but had fun blowing out the candles. We had a family party on her birthday and then had some friends over that Saturday complete with cake and fun. Julia still hasn't conquered the "blowing" aspect. Last year she used her fingers and pinched out the flame, resulting in a dramatic experience with tears. This year she ended up spitting on the cake as she tried to extinguish the flame. It was really cute.

The latest happenings: Recently Julia has started using the bathroom on the toilet. It's nothing consistent, but any progress towards only having one child in diapers is welcome to our budget. Today her favorite letters are "C", "E", "O". She loves pretend talking to her cousin Jake, Aunt Nay, and Grandma & Grandpa. Julia enjoys counting the stairs, "Two, Three, Six, Eight, Nine, Ten, Thirteen" (thanks to Grandma J). Her favorite response is "Sure", in a very nonchalant tone. She can't go anywhere in the car without her purse, baby, hat, and anything she can stuff into her purse. And, Dad "fixed" her crib into a toddler bed which she is very excited about.
